GLP-2 is a 33–amino acid peptide within the glucagon superfamily that is examined for its involvement in intestinal growth pathways, barrier integrity, and epithelial repair mechanisms. It acts through the GLP-2 receptor, which is primarily expressed in gastrointestinal tissues. In vitro, GLP-2 is utilized to study enterocyte proliferation, mucosal-model regeneration, and pathways related to nutrient-processing functions.
